Each year many community groups and volunteers hold annual events to help raise funds for Childcan. Childcan receives no government funding and does not receive funding from the United Way or the Canadian Cancer Society. These annual events ensure that Childcan has the financial resources to be there when our families need us the most.

SHOWDOWN IN THE DOWNTOWN

NATIONAL DAY OF AWARENESS AND ACTION FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER

Childcan and the Gold Ribbon Campaign invite you to join us in Toronto to commemorate this milestone. The day will include an Inside Ride event, and the evening will kick off at 6:00pm at HTO Park East (339 Queens Quay West, Toronto) with a block party barbecue followed by karaoke, speakers, special guests, a hero wall and the lighting of the CN TOWER.

Once again, the Brick on Wharncliffe Road South has generously allowed us to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer right at their front door. Come out to see us between 10 am and 5 pm for some yummy barbecued hot dogs and refreshments. All food donated by the Brick and the price of a hot dog is a donation. Shop around for some great deals on furniture, talk to the friendly helpful staff, and stop for lunch on the way out. Childcan volunteers are manning the "Q" and serving up dogs with a smile Hope to see you there!.

11th ANNUAL POLAR BEAR DIP
The time is fast approaching for the 11th Annual Polar Bear Dip for Childcan and The Youth and Family Resource Network, which takes place on January 29, 2011 at the Lakeside Park Pavilion in Kingsville. It's an exciting way for people in our community to help raise funds and awareness for two worthwhile causes.
Over the past 10 years, the event has grown into one of the most successful Polar Bear Dips for charity in Ontario, and with the generous support of the community, raised over $460,000 for both organizations.
Your support of this year's event will help The Youth and Family Resource Network of Essex County and Childcan raise much-needed funds to continue to provide services and support that will make a difference in the lives of hundreds of children and their families.
If you're not brave enough to face the dip, join us afterwards for an Evening of Fire and Ice. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Food from Just Jeff's Gourmet Express, entertainment by The Sellouts. Tickets are $35.00 each and can be purchased from Childcan or YFRN.

On January 17, 2011, Kelsey's Restaurant, at Wellington and Southdale in London will be having a Kick Back night for Childcan. 10% of the evenings' sales* will be donated to Childcan. 22nd Annual Kids Helping Kids Walk-A-Thon Childcan's longest running community event is a joint fundraising event that supports Childcan and the Ronald MacDonald House, London. Each year the kids, families, staff and friends of London Bridge raise awareness and much need funds to support children and families living with childhood cancer. Over $300,000 has been raised in 21 years!
